en Monthly may 24 - Eventscase Monthly News Round-Up May 2024

Table of Contents

During the month of May, we have continued to work on developments related to Artificial Intelligence, such as perfecting EVA (Event Virtual Assistant) to improve its scalability, speed and the accuracy of its responses.

While this was happening internally, we were also actively engaged externally. Here is a glimpse of our activities this month.

EVENT TECHNOLOGY FORUM

On 9 May we attended the Event Technology Forum organised by Forum Events. Our Lead Account Manager in the UK, Jon Dodd, participated in this networking day with a very full agenda of meetings with potential clients especially interested in event technology. We could describe this event as both intense and productive. We are already counting the days to attend the Event Organisers Summit on 16 and 17 October from the same organiser.

NEW SESSION OF OUR PODCAST

Our new podcast continues to thrive, and this month we had an enlightening conversation with Alberto Gómez, Director of Eventsost. Together, we delved into the secrets of sustainability in events, exploring this hot and somewhat controversial topic.

We asked ourselves: is it easy to be sustainable? According to Alberto Gómez, it’s easier and cheaper to be unsustainable. We also discussed whether specific regulations should be in place to ensure sustainability in events. Additionally, we uncovered the origins of the carbon footprint concept and examined the perverse trend of shifting the responsibility for carbon impact onto the end consumer. Furthermore, we critiqued the “narrative of defeat” that some corporations use to justify not holding events to avoid pollution.

In our next episode, we are interviewing our friend Fátima Barbero, VP of Event Managers Association Spain (EMA), with whom we talked about AI and events for a previous webinar.

In addition to the podcast, last week we launched a new episode of our on-demand content “Did you know?”. As we’ve shared, in 2024 we are highlighting new functionalities developed by our team in our sessions. This time, we are focusing on the enhanced Digital Venue navigation, designed to be more intuitive and user-friendly for attendees.

TRAINING EVENTS

This May, we were fortunate to attend the training events (#EMALearn) organised by the Event Managers Association Spain (EMA) for its members. The first event in Madrid focused on Artificial Intelligence with insights from Fátima Barbero, while the second covered Corporate Mobility. Additionally, our platform facilitated attendee registration for both events.

We are always delighted to collaborate with industry associations and are grateful to be part of these valuable initiatives.

As we wrap up this review, get ready for an exciting June filled with fresh news, thrilling events, and exciting new collaborations. See you next month!
