Welcome to the monthly review of Eventscase! March has brought significant developments in the events industry. The MPI Iberian Chapter convened its expert jury to select the finalists for the MPI Iberian Awards 2025. Meanwhile, the Event Managers Association (EMA) Spain hosted an EMA Learn session focused on the ongoing debate: “High Tech vs. High Touch”, exploring how to strike the right balance between technology and human interaction at events.
As for us at Eventscase, we’ve got plenty to share: the launch of Event Tech Hub, expanding our joint venture with Padcelona into a full ecosystem, a new whitepaper analysing technologies that fell short of expectations, and a fresh instalment of our “Did You Know?” training series, this time focusing on iframe pages.
MPI Iberian Awards 2025: Finalists’ Deliberation
The events industry in Spain has reason to celebrate: the MPI Iberian Chapter received a record-breaking 108 nominations for the 7th edition of the MPI Iberian Awards. This milestone not only surpasses previous years but also highlights MPI’s growing influence in the sector. Notably, this year saw a significant boost in diversity, with more nominations submitted by women and young professionals.
The jury meeting took place on 20 March at Phygital Gallery (Madrid), a new MICE venue that hosted a panel of distinguished industry professionals gathered to deliberate on the finalists across ten categories. Among the jury members was Mentxu Sendino, CMO of Eventscase, who participated in the evaluation process for the third consecutive year.
In total, the panel comprised 23 experts representing key industry associations and companies, ranging from convention bureaus to agencies and technology providers. After a thorough and lively discussion, the finalists in each category were selected. Now, all that’s left is to wait for 3 April, when the winners will be revealed at the awards gala at Feria Valencia, coinciding with Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) 2025.

EMA Learn “High Tech vs. High Touch”: Balancing Technology and Emotion
The Event Managers Association Spain (EMA) hosted an inspiring EMA Learn session on 20 March at the Hotel Gallery in Barcelona, under the theme “High Tech vs. High Touch.” The focus was on finding the right balance between technology and human connection in corporate events.
The session featured two standout speakers: Raimond Torrents (Event Management Institute) and Edgar Sanjuán (CEO and founder of Emogg). Torrents emphasised the importance of live emotional impact as a key factor in an event’s success, while Sanjuán impressed the audience by presenting a technological tool capable of measuring emotional responses and audience engagement in real time—using cameras and sensors.
Under the evocative theme of “High Tech vs. High Touch,” attendees reflected on how to combine data and human experience to create more memorable events. Following the presentations, participants enjoyed a lively cocktail reception—perfect for networking and exchanging insights, in true EMA style.
Eventscase participated as a collaborating partner for this EMA Learn, providing the attendee registration solution. Our CTO and Co-founder, Iván García, along with our Sales Director for Spain, Alex Barbero, were also in attendance.
The event clearly demonstrated that technology (High Tech) is meant to enhance, not replace, the human element (High Touch) in the creation of unforgettable event experiences.

New Whitepaper: Lessons Learned About Event Technology
As part of our educational initiative, Eventscase has published a new whitepaper entitled “Lessons Learned: Technologies that Didn’t Deliver on their Promises in the Events Industry”. This free resource offers a critical look at technology trends and tools that generated significant hype in the MICE sector in recent years but ultimately failed to meet expectations.
The 2020 pandemic accelerated the adoption of solutions such as virtual platforms, hybrid events, virtual reality environments, and even blockchain-based ticketing as a means of survival during challenging times. While some proved useful temporarily, many failed to live up to expectations once the initial urgency subsided. Our whitepaper explores the reasons behind this, highlighting factors such as poor user experience, lack of ROI, and implementation challenges.
By examining these real-life examples, the whitepaper offers valuable lessons for future projects—demonstrating how learning from past missteps can lead to more informed technology decisions. We invite you to download the whitepaper and share your thoughts and experiences with us. After all, innovation also means recognising what hasn’t worked—and knowing how to evolve.
New episode: “Did you know?”– Iframe Pages in Digital Venue
Our on-demand content series, “Did You Know?”, is back with its 20th episode! In this new instalment, we focus on the iframe page functionality within Eventscase’s Digital Venue. What is it? In simple terms, it’s a way to embed external content—such as YouTube videos, social media feeds, interactive maps, live polls, and more—directly into your Digital Venue. This feature enhances the digital attendee experience by offering additional information or interactive elements, all without requiring users to leave the event environment. The result? A more dynamic and engaging Digital Venue that can significantly boost audience participation and interaction.
In this episode, we guide you step by step on how to create and make the most of iframe pages with Eventscase—whether for virtual, hybrid, or in-person events (where the digital component is becoming increasingly important). The video is now available on demand, so you can watch it whenever you like and revisit it as often as needed. If you missed previous episodes of “Did You Know?”, be sure to check them out—each one is packed with useful tips and features to help you get the most out of Eventscase tools when organising your events.
Conclusion
In summary, this month has brought us valuable milestones and learnings. Eventscase celebrates the success of initiatives such as the MPI Iberian Awards and EMA training sessions, which continue to enrich the professional events community. At the same time, we remain firmly committed to innovation—through pioneering partnerships like Event Tech Hub, insightful resources like our new whitepaper, and practical training via our “Did You Know?” series. We hope you found this review useful and interesting. See you next month with more news and Eventscase developments for the MICE sector!
